The Doorpost Film Project

The Doorpost Film Project is a new filmmaking contest which will also serve as an ongoing project that aims to “change the world.” It’s another positive social filmmaking endeavor in the light of Pangea Day which I blogged about before. Along with the project’s optimistic goals, they’re giving filmmakers some serious cash!

Here’s the gist of the contest:

Submitted films (accepted from February 1 to May 1, 2008) need to be 5 minutes or less in length – themed in one of seven universal concepts: ENERGY, LOVE, PAIN, GREED, REDEMPTION, FORGIVENESS, and FREEDOM.

Entries are to be uploaded to thedoorpost.com where it will be streamed and judged by “industry experts” and online viewers.

15 finalists will win $10,000 each to make another short film (8-15 minutes in length). From there, three winners will be selected – 3rd prize = $20,000, 2nd prize = $30,000 and 1st prize = $100,000. Not bad.

    I am not that savy as far as internet is concerned
    But I managed to pay an entry fee to doorpost project, yet I cannot find the upload link or any other file detailed information etc.

    To Doorpost project, to who it may concern.
    Dear sir! I realize that Easter holiday took everyone away from work. Perhaps I sound impatient, but the deadline to enter your competiotion is not that far away. I have registered,
    payd my fee friday last week, but I cannot upload my film as requested/advertised on you first page of the website.
    Neither can I view any films as you recomend. Am I missunderstanding your instructions? (films to be uploaded by doorpost after approving?)
    I have requested news updates, I have requested information with regard to uploading, I have left telephone messages yet no one have contacted me even though your answering message promises so.

    Sorry for the trouble with the upload function! All of those bugs are fixed now and you shouldn’t have any problems uploading. If for some reason you do, please feel free to email me directly.
